Pendleton’s Fall Harvest Festival Returns October 10 With an Artsy Twist
The annual festival fills the Village Green with fall fun while putting extra attention on Pendleton’s creative side
Fall in Pendleton has a way of looking like it was made for a postcard, and one of the town's signature autumn traditions is coming back October 10.
The Pendleton Fall Harvest Festival returns to the Pendleton Village Green on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The annual town-sponsored event brings together vendors, food, entertainment and family-friendly activities in the heart of historic Pendleton.
This year, however, there is another reason to look a little closer at what is happening around the Green.
More Art Mixed Into the Fall Fun
Organizers are putting a stronger spotlight on art and the creative community, adding another layer to an event already built around local makers and seasonal fun.
Visitors can expect opportunities to see local artists, handmade work and creative activity alongside the festival's more familiar fall atmosphere.
That combination feels especially fitting for Pendleton, where historic character and a strong maker culture tend to share the same sidewalks.
What to Know Before You Go
The festival runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on October 10 at the Pendleton Village Green.
The Green sits in the center of town, making the festival easy to pair with a walk through Pendleton's shops, restaurants and historic streets.
The Town of Pendleton lists the Fall Harvest Festival among its official town-sponsored public events.
With a full day scheduled, arriving earlier can give you more time to browse vendors and enjoy the town before the busiest part of the afternoon.
Make It More Than a Quick Stop
This is one of those local events that works best when you do not treat it like an errand.
Slow down, walk the Green, see what local vendors brought, grab something to eat and take a few minutes to explore downtown.
The festival's location also makes it an easy outing for Anderson-area families who want a fall event without turning the day into a long road trip.
Sometimes the best fall plans are the ones sitting twenty minutes down the road.
A Good Weekend to Explore Pendleton
October weekends can fill up fast with football, pumpkin patches and everything else the season throws onto the calendar.
The Fall Harvest Festival offers something a little different by putting the town itself at the center of the experience.
You get the vendors and festival atmosphere, but you also get historic Pendleton as the backdrop.
And with this year's extra attention on the arts, you may head home with more than a pumpkin-season photo.
You might discover a local artist or handmade piece you did not know was waiting just down the road. |
