The Anderson County community has a dedicated team working hard to ensure that every animal finds a loving home. Anderson County PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) is more than just a shelter; it's a sanctuary where compassion meets action. Their mission is clear: to help pets in need through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter services, and community outreach. With a vision to build a compassionate community that values animals, PAWS has made significant strides in animal welfare. One of their remarkable achievements is transforming Anderson County into the largest No Kill Community in the Upstate of South Carolina. This success is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the PAWS team and the supportive community. But the journey doesn't end here. PAWS is continually seeking loving families to open their hearts and homes to animals in need. Adopting a pet not only provides a forever home to an animal but also brings immeasurable joy and companionship to your life. Consider the heartwarming story of Spooky, a charming seven-year-old senior who arrived at the shelter as a stray. Spooky's warm personality and fondness for human connection make him an ideal companion for leisurely strolls and affectionate snuggles. By adopting pets like Spooky, you can make a significant difference in their lives and yours. Adoption fees are incredibly reasonable, with dogs and puppies available for $35 and cats and kittens for free. Each adoption includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormer, flea treatment, microchip, and a heartworm test for dogs over six months of age. The shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. You can visit them at 1320 Highway 29 S, Anderson, SC 29626, or reach out via email at pawsrescue@andersoncountysc.org. By choosing to adopt, you're not just giving an animal a home; you're becoming a part of a community dedicated to making Anderson County a better place for both animals and residents. Open your heart, visit Anderson County PAWS, and discover the joy of unconditional love that a pet can bring into your life. Anderson County PAWS ~ A dedicated animal shelter committed to helping pets in need through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter services, and community outreach.
