🏡 Honoring a Hero: Deputy Sheriff Jay Youngblood's New Home |
On April 16, 2025, Station 16 had the distinct honor of welcoming Deputy Sheriff Jay Youngblood and his family to their new home on McAlister Road in Anderson. A disabled veteran, Deputy Youngblood's new residence was generously provided by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting our nation's heroes. The welcoming ceremony was marked by a touching display of unity and respect. The Sandy Springs Fire Department brought out Ladder 109, notably the first responding unit to the Pentagon on 9/11, to proudly display the American flag—a symbol of the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. Tunnel to Towers Foundation Deputy Youngblood's journey is a testament to resilience and dedication. His service to our country and community has been unwavering, and this new home stands as a beacon of gratitude from the Anderson community. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation's involvement underscores the importance of supporting those who have given so much for our safety and freedom.
