Schools Begin for Anderson County Students with Fresh Energy

The 2025–2026 school year officially kicked off on August 5, 2025, across Districts 1–5 in Anderson County.

Schools welcomed enthusiastic students, faculty, and staff back to classrooms new and refreshed. Community-run events at select schools, including book fairs and meet-the-teacher nights, warmed and excited both young learners and parents alike.

Here's to a great year ahead filled with learning and community spirit!

Public Invited to Participate in County Roads Planning

Anderson County will hold a Planning & Zoning Workshop on August 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Long Branch Baptist Church, 2101 Highway 413, Anderson.

Residents are invited to weigh in on the county’s Comprehensive Plan and upcoming zoning changes.

This workshop is a chance to share your priorities on land use, community amenities, infrastructure, recreation, natural resources, and economic development.

The event starts with a short presentation at 6:15 pm, followed by an open house where county planners and officials will be available to answer questions.

Recent growth, such as the Planning Commission’s approval of the 1,000-home Anderson Lake project and Eastern Engineered Wood Products investing $18.7 million to bring 31 new jobs, highlights the need for public input.

Community voices are key in shaping a future that meets local needs.

All are encouraged to attend and help guide Anderson County’s next chapter.

Coldwell Banker Caine has opened a new office in downtown Anderson, revitalizing the historic 1912 U.S. Post Office at 401 N. Main St.

More than 80 local guests, including civic leaders and business professionals, gathered to celebrate the transformation of this landmark building.

Careful restoration preserved original limestone columns, terrazzo floors, and vintage walk-in safes, while the rooftop flagpole proudly returned to the skyline.

President and CEO Stephen Edgerton called the office a testament to vision and heritage as well as a hub for real estate services.

The project, in partnership with SHLTR Architects and The Boardman Group, earned the 2025 South Carolina Historic Preservation Award for its blend of historic character and modern design.

Coldwell Banker Caine’s expansion highlights its ongoing commitment to the Upstate, bringing new energy to Anderson’s historic heart.
