Schools Begin for Anderson County Students with Fresh Energy |
The 2025β2026 school year officially kicked off on August 5, 2025, across Districts 1β5 in Anderson County. Schools welcomed enthusiastic students, faculty, and staff back to classrooms new and refreshed. Community-run events at select schools, including book fairs and meet-the-teacher nights, warmed and excited both young learners and parents alike. Here's to a great year ahead filled with learning and community spirit! |
Public Invited to Participate in County Roads Planning |
Anderson County will hold a Planning & Zoning Workshop on August 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Long Branch Baptist Church, 2101 Highway 413, Anderson.
Residents are invited to weigh in on the countyβs Comprehensive Plan and upcoming zoning changes.
This workshop is a chance to share your priorities on land use, community amenities, infrastructure, recreation, natural resources, and economic development.
The event starts with a short presentation at 6:15 pm, followed by an open house where county planners and officials will be available to answer questions.
Recent growth, such as the Planning Commissionβs approval of the 1,000-home Anderson Lake project and Eastern Engineered Wood Products investing $18.7 million to bring 31 new jobs, highlights the need for public input.
Community voices are key in shaping a future that meets local needs.

Coldwell Banker Caine has opened a new office in downtown Anderson, revitalizing the historic 1912 U.S. Post Office at 401 N. Main St.
More than 80 local guests, including civic leaders and business professionals, gathered to celebrate the transformation of this landmark building.
Careful restoration preserved original limestone columns, terrazzo floors, and vintage walk-in safes, while the rooftop flagpole proudly returned to the skyline.
President and CEO Stephen Edgerton called the office a testament to vision and heritage as well as a hub for real estate services.
The project, in partnership with SHLTR Architects and The Boardman Group, earned the 2025 South Carolina Historic Preservation Award for its blend of historic character and modern design.

Celebrate Anderson returns for its 26th year, bringing the legendary Kool & the Gang to headline the festivities on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
The lively event unfolds at the William A. Floyd Amphitheater, with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and music starting an hour later.
Admission is free, but attendees need to reserve tickets in advance due to expected high demand.
Options include Lawn Tickets for relaxed seating and Standing Room Only tickets for fans eager to get close to the stage.
For faster entry, guests are urged to skip chair bags.
The Anderson Sports & Entertainment Center operates cashless, so bring your ID and a card for purchases.
Free tickets will be available starting April 4.
