From golf cart parades to lake fireworks, bell tributes to BBQ feasts
Anderson, SC — Let's be honest: you can only watch that one relative attempt to grill burgers without burning them so many times before you need an escape plan. Lucky for you, the Upstate is throwing a 250th birthday bash for America that would make the Founding Fathers jealous. (Yes, even the ones who wore powdered wigs in July.)
We've scoured Anderson County and beyond to bring you the ultimate Independence Day playbook — organized chronologically so you can plan your patriotic party-hopping like a pro. From June 27th through July 4th, there's something exploding, parading, or sizzling on a grill every single day. Grab your lawn chairs, your sparklers, and your appetite. It's time to celebrate freedom the way America intended: with explosions, parades, and way too much BBQ.

Pro Tips for Your 4th of July Adventures
1. Arrive early. The best spots fill up faster than you can say "ooh, ahh" during the fireworks.
2. Bring cash. Not every vendor takes cards, and you don't want to miss out on that BBQ plate because you only have plastic.
3. Pack the essentials: Lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray, sunscreen, and a cooler of drinks. This is the South in July. It'll be hot.
4. Carpool when possible. Parking is limited at several venues, and besides, the ride there is half the fun.
5. Leave the pets at home. Fireworks and furry friends don't mix. (Your dog will thank you.)
The Bottom Line
Whether you're into golf cart parades, historic bell tributes, lake fireworks, or just eating free hot dogs while watching things explode in the sky, the Upstate has a 4th of July celebration with your name on it. America's turning 250, and we're celebrating the only way we know how: big, loud, and with plenty of community spirit.
So grab your crew, pick your events, and get ready to make some memories. Just remember: if your fireworks photos don't turn out blurry, did you even really celebrate?
