You don't exactly expect to find a seafood market loaded with tuna, grouper, snapper, lobster tails, stone crab claws and oysters while driving down Highway 81 in Anderson but that's what makes this week's Small Business Spotlight worth a look.

Meet Stuart Fish Co., a local spot bringing an impressive selection of fresh seafood to Anderson.

And judging by this week's catch, deciding what to take home might be the hardest part.

So... What's on the Chalkboard?

Stuart Fish Co. posts its available catch so customers can see what's coming in, and this week's Labor Day weekend selection is a big one.

The lineup includes bigeye tuna, grouper, vermilion/beeliner snapper, monkfish, lobster tails, whole North Carolina blue crabs, North Carolina stone crab claws, wild-caught Alaskan king salmon, Faroe Islands salmon, Hawaiian opah, mahi mahi, jumbo shrimp, dry sea scallops, golden tilefish, halibut, wahoo and oysters from Topsail Sound, North Carolina.

In other words, this isn't exactly the frozen-fish-stick section. 😂

Whether you're planning a seafood dinner for Labor Day weekend, firing up the grill or just looking for something a little different for supper, there's plenty to choose from.

A Little Bit of the Coast, Right Here in Anderson

One of the fun things about discovering businesses like Stuart Fish Co. is realizing just how many specialty shops we have tucked around Anderson.

Instead of making a trip toward the coast to hunt down seafood, local shoppers have another option right here at home and the selection can change depending on what's available.

Stuart Fish Co. also announced that special promotions and discounts are planned throughout Labor Day weekend, so seafood fans may want to keep an eye on their updates.

Planning to Stop By? Go Early

Fresh seafood and holiday weekends can be a dangerous combination... for the seafood, anyway.

Stuart Fish Co. notes that its weekend hours are while supplies last, so popular items could sell out.

🕒 Labor Day Weekend Hours:
Friday: 10 AM–5 PM
Saturday: 9 AM–4 PM (unless sold out)
Sunday: 1–4 PM (unless sold out)

So if grouper, lobster tails, jumbo shrimp or fresh oysters sound like a pretty good way to celebrate the weekend, this might be one local stop to put on the list.

And that's exactly why we love our Small Business Spotlight—sometimes you don't have to travel very far to find something you didn't know was right down the road.
