Community Updates

• Green Pond Landing Celebrates 10th Anniversary

  Green Pond Landing and Events Center, a significant economic contributor to Anderson County, marked its tenth anniversary on December 19, 2024. Over the past decade, it has generated more than $116 million through various fishing events. 

   

• Free Mulch Now Available for Anderson County Residents

  Following Hurricane Helene, Starr Landfill has processed 7,112 tons of storm debris, which has been converted into mulch now available for free to Anderson County residents. Residents can collect the mulch at Starr Landfill, located at 390 Roy Arnold Rd., Starr, SC 29684. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to noon. For any questions, please contact the Anderson County Solid Waste Department at 864-260-1001.
