Anderson County has been awarded a $529,600 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All initiative.

This follows last year’s $200,000 grant, used to create a Safety Action Plan focusing on better protection for emergency responders.

Anderson County residents are urged to be alert following a surge in email scams aimed at those applying for community funding.

Scammers are impersonating the Anderson County Planning and Zoning Commission and falsely claim that grants have been approved
