Whether you’re planning ahead for the 4th of July or looking for something fun to do this week, there’s plenty happening around the Electric City.

The Upstate is throwing a 250th birthday bash for America with 13+ events across Anderson County and beyond. From BoomSquad Lake Hartwell fireworks (July 4) to Williamston Freedom Festival (June 27) to Carolina Day bell tributes in Piedmont (June 28), there is something for everyone. Highlights include golf cart parades in Double Springs, free hot dogs in Pelzer, tethered hot air balloon rides in Williamston, and fireworks shows in Pendleton, Iva, Homeland Park, and Calhoun Falls. Most events are FREE.

The City of Anderson Public Works Division will conduct mosquito control spraying on Thursday, June 25th at 8:30 PM. The operation affects over 28 streets including Abigail Lane, Bramble Ridge Road, East Calhoun Street, and more. The city will use EPA-approved Biomist 3+15 adulticide via truck-mounted ULV fog equipment. Residents can request services or report issues through the Anderson Connect portal.

The historic town of Pendleton, SC hosts America's 250th Birthday Celebration on Wednesday, June 24, 2025, 6:00-8:30 PM at the Village Green. The free event features live music by the Eric Scott Band, a Kids' Zone with activities and giveaways, Presentation of Colors honoring military veterans, and a patriotic storefront decoration competition. Downtown businesses will compete for best patriotic display. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and patriotic spirit. The Loomis Bros. Circus brings its 2026 edition to the T. Ed Garrison Livestock Arena in Pendleton, SC from June 29 through July 1.
