Two little boys. Two BIG personalities. Two forever homes still waiting to be found.

Meet Buzzy and Chevrolet, two sweet puppies living with a foster family through the Foster Ambassador program.

Buzzy is a 4-month-old, 20-pound black-and-white pup who starts out shy but becomes a devoted, affectionate sidekick once he trusts you. He's neutered, loves car rides, and is ready for adventures.

Chevrolet is a playful, cuddly, chocolate-and-white puppy around 2 months old. He's crate trained, sleeps through the night, and enjoys other dogs. Because he's teething, a home without small children is recommended. He will be neutered before adoption.

Both puppies are in foster care, not at the shelter. To arrange a meeting, email amelia.maxwell@andersoncountysc.gov.

Help these boys find their people by sharing their story!

Fall color is arriving across the Upstate, but it doesn't happen everywhere at once.

Lake Hartwell Country has highlighted scenic destinations across Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties, from mountain overlooks to quiet lakeside views.

Higher elevations around Sassafras Mountain and Table Rock typically turn first in early to mid-October. The color then travels downhill, reaching the Lake Hartwell shoreline later in October and into November.

For an easy local outing, consider Sadlers Creek State Park in Anderson or Lake Hartwell State Park in Fair Play. For mountain scenery, try Highway 11, Wigington Overlook or Devils Fork State Park.

Before you go, check current foliage conditions and park access. There's still time to plan a colorful fall drive close to home.

Tip of The Day

Give Your Porch Light a Halloween Check!

Before the trick-or-treaters arrive, take five minutes to check your porch light, walkway, and front steps. Replace burned-out bulbs, move anything that could trip little feet, and make sure decorations aren't blocking the path.

A little preparation now means fewer surprises later — unless you've got a motion-activated skeleton hiding by the door.
