Anderson, this week feels like September is having a little identity crisis. We’ve still got splash-pad weather, Downtown Anderson is keeping Saturdays lively, and a local golf tradition is returning for its 18th year.
Between live music, family fun, community events and a few chances to actually learn something without feeling like you’re back in school, there’s plenty happening around the Electric City.

Photograph the Model Number Before You Need It
The next time you’re near your refrigerator, washing machine, HVAC unit or other major appliance, take a quick picture of the model and serial number label.
Save the photos in an album on your phone called “Home Info.” Then when something breaks, you won’t be lying on the floor with a flashlight trying to read a sticker behind the appliance while questioning every decision that led you there. |

The Anderson Traction Company was Anderson’s first public transit system. According to the Anderson County Museum, businessman James Albert Brock helped establish Anderson Water, Light and Power Co., which later oversaw creation of the Anderson Traction Company as the city’s first public transportation system. |
