Anderson County Seeks Public Input on Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Ordinance Updates |
Residents Invited to Share Feedback at October 28 Meeting Amid Rapid Growth |
Anderson County is experiencing significant growth, prompting updates to its 10-year comprehensive plan and land use development ordinance.
Residents are encouraged to participate in a public meeting on October 28 to provide input on these crucial updates.
The meeting will be held at the Civic Center, located at 3027 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Anderson, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Attendees can drop in at any time during these hours.
Two brief presentations are scheduled at 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm to outline the proposed changes and their potential impact on the community.
County staff will be available throughout the event to answer questions and discuss the upcoming zoning referendum.
This initiative comes in response to several recent developments in Anderson County.
Notably, the approval of Anderson Lake, a 1,200-acre mixed-use community featuring approximately 1,000 homes, underscores the need for updated planning to accommodate such large-scale projects.
Additionally, the county has implemented a 90-day moratorium on new housing developments to manage rapid expansion and infrastructure strain.
Community involvement is essential in shaping the future of Anderson County.
Residents' feedback will help ensure that growth aligns with the community's needs and preserves the county's unique character.
