AnMed Begins Construction on New Medical Office Complex Near Anderson |
Transformative redevelopment of former Windsor Place shopping center to enhance healthcare access and revitalize key corridor |
AnMed has initiated construction on a significant new medical office complex at the former Windsor Place shopping center, located at 1520 E. Greenville Street in Anderson.
This comprehensive redevelopment underscores AnMed's commitment to expanding healthcare services and revitalizing a prominent area along South Carolina Highway 81.
The 82,267-square-foot facility will house several of AnMed's growing service lines, including Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Ear, Nose & Throat Care (ENT), Integrated Therapy, and Occupational Medicine.
Additionally, a state-of-the-art outpatient imaging center featuring advanced 3 Tesla MRI technology will be incorporated.
"This project is exciting and especially gratifying because it will accommodate the growth of our health system while delivering benefits to the community on multiple levels," said William Kenley, CEO of AnMed.
"Not only are we increasing capacity and access to care, but we're also reinvigorating what had become a blighted area in a prominent corridor of Anderson."
The first practice to open at the new location will be Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, expected to begin serving patients next summer.
Subsequent services will commence in phases, enhancing healthcare accessibility for the community.
As part of this expansion, AnMed's Heart & Vascular services will relocate to fully occupy 100 Healthy Way, previously shared with Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. |
Furthermore, two separate AnMed Integrated Therapy locations will be consolidated into the new Windsor Place facility, streamlining operations and improving patient experience.
"Diligent work over the fall, winter, and spring will make a remarkable difference not only in the space but throughout that stretch of town," Kenley added.
"To inject new life of energy and service rather than demolish and build anew—without sacrificing capabilities or amenities—it's heartening, and perhaps it's symbolic of the care our teammates provide every day."
This development is part of AnMed's broader strategy to enhance healthcare services in the region, following the recent opening of the AnMed Piedmont campus, which includes a freestanding emergency department and various outpatient services.
These initiatives reflect AnMed's dedication to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the Anderson community. |
