Free family event marks America's 250th anniversary with live music, historical reenactors, and community activities
ANDERSON, SC — The City of Anderson invites residents and visitors to celebrate Carolina Day on Sunday, June 28th from 1:00–3:00 PM at Carolina Wren Park in Downtown Anderson. This free community event is part of the nationwide commemoration of the 250th birthday of the United States.
Event Highlights
The Carolina Day celebration will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including live patriotic music from GAMAC's Electric City Big Band, historical reenactors offering immersive experiences, and an indigo art demonstration showcasing traditional crafts. Children can enjoy games and crafts designed just for them while families explore the park.
Special Bell Tribute
A highlight of the afternoon will be a special Bell Tribute at 2:50 PM featuring 25 rings of the bell to honor America's 250th anniversary. This moment of commemoration brings the community together to reflect on the nation's history and future.
Food and Refreshments
Attendees can purchase food and treats from local vendors including Taste of Freedom and Sunset Slush, offering a variety of options to enjoy during the celebration. The Anderson County Library Bookmobile will also be on site, providing access to books and library resources.
Community Partnership
The event is presented by Anderson County South Carolina 250 in partnership with local organizations dedicated to preserving and celebrating American history. The City of Anderson continues its commitment to hosting family-friendly events that bring the community together in Downtown Anderson.
