The long-awaited revitalization of Cater's Lake in Anderson, SC, is nearing completion, and the community is invited to celebrate this transformation.
On March 17 at 10 a.m., the Mayor and City Council will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Cater's Lake, located at 1550 College Avenue.
This event marks the culmination of extensive efforts to enhance the area for public enjoyment.
The $5.8 million project, funded through Hospitality Tax funds, includes paved walkways, native landscaping, a covered bridge, and a nesting island to support local wildlife.
Additionally, the intersection of Hiawatha Drive and East Greenville Street has been closed to create an entrance plaza and additional parking, improving accessibility for visitors.
Following the Cater's Lake ceremony, attendees can enjoy a community picnic by the lake, offering a chance to explore the updated space and connect with neighbors.
This revitalization reflects Anderson's commitment to enhancing public spaces and preserving the natural beauty that defines the community. |
