Anderson, SC — The City of Anderson Public Works Division has announced scheduled mosquito control spraying for Thursday, June 25th, beginning at 8:30 PM. Residents in multiple neighborhoods throughout the city should be aware of the upcoming application and take recommended precautions.

Which Neighborhoods Will Be Sprayed?

The mosquito control operation will target the following streets and areas in Anderson:

Abigail Lane, Bramble Ridge Road, Brittania Circle, Cobblestone Court, Cornelia Road, East Calhoun Street, Fernwood Court, Holly Creek Drive, Laurel Ridge Road, Liberty Court, Linmar Circle, Lofton Court, Londonberry Drive, Marchbanks Avenue, Old Colony Court, Old Colony Road, Patriot Court, Riggins Lane, Ripley Circle, Rush Street, Sandy Hollow, Sloan Avenue, Theodore Court, Tindall Avenue, Upland Way, Ventura Street, and Woodland Drive.

What Chemicals Are Being Used?

The City of Anderson will deploy truck-mounted ULV (Ultra Low Volume) fog equipment using Biomist 3+15 adulticide for this mosquito control application. This is a standard EPA-approved treatment used by municipalities across South Carolina to reduce mosquito populations and help prevent mosquito-borne illnesses.

Mosquito Prevention Tips for Anderson Residents

While the city conducts spraying operations, residents can take additional steps to reduce mosquito breeding around their properties:

Keep gutters clean and free of leaves and debris. Clogged gutters create standing water — a prime breeding ground for mosquitoes. Regular maintenance of your home's drainage system significantly reduces mosquito habitat.

Additional prevention measures include eliminating standing water in flower pots, bird baths, and containers, maintaining swimming pools properly, keeping lawns mowed and vegetation trimmed, repairing torn window and door screens, and using EPA-approved insect repellent when outdoors.

How to Request Spraying or Report Mosquito Issues

Anderson residents who need mosquito control services or want to report problem areas can submit requests through the SeeClickFix app or visit the city's Anderson Connect portal directly.
