It's not just theatre — it's a conversation starter.

Orwell's "1984" isn't your typical community theatre production. It's a gripping psychological thriller that asks uncomfortable questions:

What happens when truth becomes whatever those in power say it is? - How much freedom are we willing to trade for security? - Can love survive in a world where even thoughts are monitored

The Electric City Playhouse has built a reputation for tackling challenging material with professional-quality productions. Their intimate downtown venue creates an immersive experience that larger theatres simply can't match. When you're sitting just feet from the action, every moment feels personal. Every revelation hits harder.

The Story

Winston Smith lives in a world of total surveillance. Every move is watched. Every word is monitored. Even thoughts are policed. When he dares to question the system and falls in love, he sets in motion a chain of events that will test the limits of human resilience.

This stage adaptation captures the psychological tension and emotional power of Orwell's novel while bringing the story to vivid theatrical life. It's thought-provoking, intense, and utterly unforgettable.
