Families in Anderson have a fun opportunity to meet a familiar purple face this week while supporting local schools. The McDonald's location on Highway 28 Bypass will host a special community event on Thursday evening featuring a visit from one of McDonaldland’s most beloved characters - Grimace.
The event will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and is designed as both a fun family outing and a fundraiser for two Anderson County schools. During the two-hour event, 20 percent of total sales at the restaurant will be donated directly to Homeland Park Primary School and Varennes Elementary School.
Grimace, the iconic McDonaldland character known for his cheerful personality and big purple appearance, will be available for photos and meet-and-greets with families and children throughout the event. Organizers say it’s a great chance for kids to see the character up close while parents help support education in the community. Community fundraisers like this one have become a popular way for local businesses to partner with schools and support student programs, supplies, and classroom needs. With two schools benefiting from the evening’s sales, organizers are hoping for a strong turnout from Anderson residents.
The event will take place at the McDonald’s located on the 28 Bypass in Anderson. Families are encouraged to stop by, grab dinner, and take advantage of the opportunity to snap a photo with Grimace - because as organizers point out, you never know when he’ll make another appearance. |
