As Labor Day weekend approaches, residents and visitors in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson can look forward to a vibrant array of events celebrating the end of summer.

 

Greenville kicks off the festivities on Friday, August 29, with the Greenville Drive facing the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Fluor Field. The game starts at 6:45 p.m., followed by a spectacular Friday night fireworks show. Celebrating 20 years of Fluor Field, this event promises excitement for baseball fans and families alike.

 

On Saturday, August 30, the Upstate Food Truck Festival takes place at Reedy Fork Fairgrounds in Simpsonville from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees can enjoy offerings from over 25 food, beverage, and dessert trucks, accompanied by live music and entertainment throughout the day.

 

In Spartanburg, art enthusiasts can explore the Hub City Art Hop on Saturday, August 30, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Art Lounge. This outdoor market features over 40 artists and makers showcasing handcrafted art, jewelry, and decor. Inside The Art Lounge, immersive art experiences and additional local vendors await visitors.

 

Music lovers won't want to miss the 5th Annual Jazz in the Garden at Indigo Hall Events on August 30, starting at 5 p.m. The evening features performances by Grammy-nominated jazz musician Hank Bilal and renowned violinist Rhett Price, promising a memorable night of outstanding music.

 

Anderson hosts the annual Celebrate Anderson event on Sunday, August 31, at the William A. Floyd Amphitheater. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with the free Jeep Extravaganza, featuring live music, food vendors, and local artisans. Gates open at 6 p.m. for a concert by Kool & the Gang, followed by a fireworks display. While tickets are free, they are required for entry.

 

Additionally, the Hot Air Affair: Rising Above Cancer takes place throughout the weekend at the Civic Center Balloon Launch Field in Anderson. The event features hot air balloon flights, tethered rides, live music, and a kids' zone. Festivities begin on Friday, August 29, at 5 p.m. and continue through Monday, September 1.

 

For those interested in agricultural heritage, the Dacusville Farm Show in Easley offers a glimpse into farm life with live music, tractor demonstrations, and a petting zoo. The event runs from August 30 to 31, with gates opening at 8 a.m. daily.

 

With such a diverse lineup of events, Labor Day weekend in the Upstate promises something for everyone. Whether you're a fan of sports, food, art, or music, Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson have you covered.
