As spring approaches, ensuring your landscape is primed for new growth becomes essential.
To assist homeowners and gardening enthusiasts, the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service in Anderson County is offering a comprehensive workshop titled "The Basics of Pruning."
Scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026, this morning session will be held at the Anderson County Clemson Extension office, located at 1428 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
The program runs from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with doors opening at 8:30 AM.
Designed for homeowners, gardeners, and anyone interested in enhancing their pruning techniques, this workshop will cover the fundamental principles of pruning various plants, including ornamental and fruit trees.
Participants will learn about the optimal timing for pruning, the correct methods to make cuts, and the reasons why proper pruning is vital for plant health and productivity.
Pruning is more than just shaping plants for aesthetic appeal.
When done correctly, it promotes healthier growth, increases fruit yield, and helps plants resist diseases and overgrowth. |

Whether you're managing backyard ornamentals or a small fruit orchard, this session aims to equip you with the confidence and skills needed to help your plants thrive throughout the growing season.
