Pendleton Candy Company Named Top Candy Shop in South Carolina Again

Southern Living Honors Local Favorite for Second Consecutive Year

Southern Living magazine has once again recognized Pendleton Candy Company as the top candy shop in South Carolina, marking the second consecutive year the confectionery has received this prestigious honor.  Best Candy Shops

Founded by Kimberly Blackwell, a former mortgage banker turned baker, the shop first opened its doors at 119 N. Mechanic St. in Pendleton. Blackwell's passion for baking, inspired by her grandmother's recipes, has been the cornerstone of the shop's success. (guidetosouthcarolina.com

The store offers a delightful array of sweets, including homemade fudge, truffles, specialty candies, saltwater taffy, jelly beans, and nostalgic wax bottles. This diverse selection has endeared the shop to both locals and visitors alike. thependletoncandycompany.com

In addition to the Southern Living accolade, Pendleton Candy Company has been honored with the South Carolina Travel and Tourism Guide's Best in SC award for two consecutive years, further solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for confectionery delights. yahoo.com

The recent expansion into Liberty, with a new location at 18 S. Commerce St., has been met with enthusiastic community support. Blackwell noted, "The community has really embraced the new location. It's been great, more spacious and nicely decorated. Customers love it. It's actually doing better than Pendleton, which is amazing to see." Pendleton Candy Company

The Liberty location also features a unique "candy suite," an Airbnb available for nightly rentals, allowing guests to immerse themselves in a sweet-themed experience. thetigercu.com

Blackwell's daughter, Claire, manages the original Pendleton store, while family friend Camille Cunningham oversees the Liberty location. Their dedication ensures that the warm, family-friendly atmosphere remains a hallmark of both stores.

The unwavering support from the community is evident, with many locals proudly wearing Pendleton Candy Company merchandise, such as T-shirts and polos, showcasing their love for the shop. Blackwell expressed her gratitude, stating, "It feels great to see our brand embraced in the community."

As Pendleton Candy Company continues to grow and delight customers with its sweet offerings, the recognition from Southern Living serves as a testament to the shop's commitment to quality and community engagement.
