Anderson County leaders have approved plans for a major economic development project that is expected to bring more than 200 new jobs to the area. Known as Project Bento, the initiative includes an estimated $11.5 million investment and the creation of 202 new positions.
The project received approval from Anderson County Council as part of ongoing efforts to attract new industries and strengthen the local economy. Officials say the investment represents another step in expanding job opportunities for residents while continuing the county’s economic growth.
Economic development leaders have emphasized that projects like this play a key role in maintaining Anderson County’s competitive position in the region. New manufacturing and industrial investments often generate additional economic activity through supporting businesses, supply chains, and local spending. |
County council members also discussed additional measures during the same meeting, including updates to ethics rules and recognition of local veterans. However, the announcement of Project Bento drew particular attention because of the scale of the investment and the number of jobs expected to be created.
The 202 positions associated with the project could provide significant employment opportunities across a range of skill levels, further strengthening Anderson County’s workforce.
Economic development officials say announcements like Project Bento demonstrate that Anderson continues to attract interest from companies looking to expand or relocate within South Carolina.
As development plans move forward, local leaders say they remain focused on ensuring the project benefits both businesses and residents throughout Anderson County. |
