Anderson residents encouraged to participate in shaping the county's future |
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 6:00 PM, the Coalition for Developing Anderson County Responsibly (CDACR) will host a public workshop at the Anderson Library, located at 300 N. McDuffie St.
This event offers residents a platform to engage in discussions about sustainable growth and thoughtful planning for Anderson County.
The workshop will feature guest speaker Dawn Crooks, a seasoned community planner renowned for her expertise in eco-friendly development and responsible infrastructure design.
Topics will encompass zoning practices, long-term land use, and strategies for Anderson to grow without losing its local spirit.
Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, offer ideas, and learn how they can participate in future planning processes.
This is more than a meeting—it's a chance to help mold Anderson's next chapter.
Recent developments underscore the importance of community involvement in planning.
In July 2025, the Anderson County Planning Commission approved the Anderson Lake project, a significant development spanning 1,200 acres and introducing approximately 1,000 new homes to the area.
Additionally, the City of Anderson has been proactive in shaping its future.
In February 2025, city leaders initiated a comprehensive plan to guide development over the next two decades, focusing on creating walkable neighborhoods and diverse housing options.
These initiatives highlight the community's commitment to thoughtful growth and the importance of resident participation in shaping Anderson's future.
