Downtown Anderson is gearing up for another exciting Shock City Saturday on September 26, 2026, bringing the community together for a day of live entertainment, family activities, and local business specials. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM along Main Street, transforming the heart of Anderson into a vibrant hub of activity.
What to Expect
Organized by Tammy Woodbury, Downtown Anderson Today, and Alysa Hawkins, this free public event offers something for everyone:
Live Music: Enjoy performances at Magnetic South from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, featuring local talent that showcases the Upstate's vibrant music scene.
Family Fun: Carolina Wren Park will host a dedicated Kid Area complete with a splash pad and chalk activities, perfect for keeping the little ones entertained throughout the day.
Rubber Duck Hunt: One of the event's most popular attractions returns — a rubber duck hunt throughout downtown. Keep your eyes peeled for the "lucky duck," which comes with a voucher for ice cream at Figs, courtesy of a Downtown Anderson business sponsor.
Street Performers: Wander Main Street and enjoy performances from talented street artists adding to the festive atmosphere.
Fire Truck Open House: Visit the downtown fire station for an up-close look at the equipment and meet the firefighters who serve our community.
Pet Adoptions: Lucky Pup Rescue will be on-site at Magnetic South with adoptable dogs looking for their forever homes.
